Care and Connection
Each year, we are paired with at least one missionary or missionary family. We have the privilege of praying for them throughout the year, but you can also show them love by celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays with cards or emails. Click each missionary's picture for more information.
We also continue to support Joshua and Katie Haun, missionaries sent from East Tennessee to Sofia, Bulgaria.
Current Care and Connection Missionaries
Mitchel Ramos and Surama López Ramos
Mitchel Ramos and Surama López have served for at least three years in Africa (Kenya and Ghana, respectively). Mitchel felt called to serve in missions in 2017, and since then, his passion for sharing the hope we have in Christ Jesus has taken him to different places such as Mexico (where he was born), Guatemala, and Kenya.
Surama López felt God’s call to serve in missions since she was a child, listening to missionary stories shared at her local church in Guatemala (where she was born). Her heart felt a strong call to Africa and to serve children like herself. After graduating from missionary studies, she served in countries such as Haiti and Ghana, Africa, where God has allowed her to serve in church planting, orphanages, and among unreached communities.
Now both have accepted a new call to serve in the Africa region. They will participate in a ministry in which they will be able to help others find their calling in missions.
Pray for physical, spiritual, and emotional health, that God will help them through the changes.
Pray for financial resources, that God would provide the necessary material resources in the field.
Pray for the ministries to be developed, that they may make Christ-like disciples through the love and compassion that Christ gives.
Joshua and Katie Haun
The city they call home is a beautiful yet broken place, serving as the capital of Bulgaria and home to nearly 1.3 million Bulgarians. The Haun family is serving there with the goal of starting churches that will become part of a church-planting movement they believe God has in store for this great city and the country of Bulgaria. The Hauns believe that the Kingdom of God is on the move in Sofia, Bulgaria, and are excited to be part of the redeeming work of Christ as it transforms one neighborhood at a time throughout this great city.
Joshua and Katie have been married since January 2011 and have served in the Church of the Nazarene since before that time. Katie and Joshua both grew up in Tennessee. They have a long history with Bulgaria dating back to 2011. Since those first days their love for Bulgaria continues to grow.
The Haun family cannot wait to see what God will accomplish in the coming years as they continue “Serving in Sofia.” Thank you to those who love, pray for, and financially support the Haun Family and their ministry to Sofia, Bulgaria. Your support is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
Former Care and Connection Missionaries
Please continue praying for the missionary families we have connected with in the past.
Rusty and Diane Robbins
We love to tell people about the work God is doing in the hearts and lives of people across the Eurasia region.

Rusty is the JESUS Film Regional Coordinator with work focused in the 10/40 window to clearly present the saving grace of Jesus Christ to all, while developing passionate disciples of Jesus, and this within strong and healthy local churches.
Diane is the Nazarene Missions International (NMI) Regional Coordinator. She works with district leaders to make missions a dynamic and fully integrated part of church life.
Ben and Hannah Ponder
As missionaries assigned to Serbia, Ben & Hannah will be living in the city of Belgrade, primarily to serve the refugees there.
Their ministry includes teaching English to refugees, working with children at refugee camps and Roma villages, and teaching youth how to play musical instruments like the guitar.
Ben & Hannah are passionate about educating and meeting the needs of people who find themselves in difficult situations in which local culture seems to harm rather than help them. Ben & Hannah are striving to make relationships with these people and bring them into a relationship with Christ by showing them God’s love and care.
